(no spam, promise. we hate it, too.)

  1. “We must give childhood back to children.”

Totally agree that kids need more play and less school.

I have a 12-month-old and mothers I know with babies even younger are talking about early intervention preschool. It panics and disgusts me at the same time.

  2. Thanks so much for the shout-out, Tsh!

  3. I like your quote for today. It reminds me of Anne of Green Gables: “Tomorrow is a new day, with no mistakes in it yet.” (Or something very close to that.)

  4. Are those my beloved Merrell Captiva boots in the photo? They are the most comfortable footwear I’ve ever owned and I’m not even a usual fan of boots!

  5. That first article hit home pretty hard. I am micro-managing my son’s education to the point of insanity. He wants to stay in public school but I feel he is just not learning proper writing or math. These are pretty big subjects for me to be unhappy with in the system. His time for play is limited to the point that it is video games for 20 minutes at night with his dad.
He makes great grades…. but has a minute of time to rub together excluding the carefully guarded Mondays.

Play. Play will be my word for next week. This week is Clean… for the love of heaven clean and tidy brings peace. Play. I simply cannot wait.
