About Tsh

Tsh is the founder of this blog and lives in Bend, Oregon with her husband and 3 kids. Her latest book is Notes From a Blue Bike, and believes a passport is one of the world's greatest textbooks.

Today’s giveaway comes from sponsor True Beauty: Be Still, a film and reflection guide created by Lisa Chan. From True Beauty:

“Every woman knows the feeling. Regardless of her age, her income, or her family situation, women today are facing the challenges of a busy life and the stress that comes with it.

Obligations to children, husband, job, church, friends, committees, and the pressures of everyday life have created a spiritual crisis for women. Because in their efforts to be everything to everyone, women have forgotten the ONE who really should be their everything.

Lisa Chan believes that in our quest to do it all, women are missing God. In the first film of her new series, True Beauty: Finding Your Identity in Jesus, Chan focuses on what it means to Be Still. Be Still addresses the issues that confront women when they forget to spend time with Jesus — something that, like most women, Chan struggled with herself.

As a mother of five children, co-founder of Cornerstone Community Church in Simi Valley, California, and wife of best-selling author and pastor Francis Chan, Lisa knows firsthand what it means to be overwhelmed, overcommitted, and out of time.

It was an unplanned, extended time alone with God that fueled her desire to encourage every woman to see the beauty of coming before the Lord in stillness. She has seen firsthand that women in the church are suffering from depression, anxiety, and stress at alarming rates—and recognizes that women need to make the choice to find hope and healing and truth from God’s presence and through His Word.

With this film, Chan comes alongside women in their walk with the Lord to give them the tools they need to be the person God intends them to be.”

Oh, I’m so excited about this!! I received an email from a friend of my today that said, “Every time I read these, I think of you.” I am a mom of three, and for the last year have been working full-time as a teacher while carrying a full load in college. Because my husband and I work well as partners and he is very supportive we were making it work, but not without stress and chaos. All throughout the year I kept hearing the Lord say to me, “Be Still.” So, I ended up quitting my job, so I could take on being mom and wife full-time. I’m still transitioning, learning how to “Be Still”. But now I understand why the Lord wanted me to “Be Still.” He wants to be in relationship with me. He wants a rich, communicative, loving relationship with me, one that can only be had with time and intention. So, this email has come at a perfect time~God’s time!

  22. What a great resource! Can’t wait to dig into the book and focus on the One who matters the most.

  23. I’ve got a million questions I’m circulating in my mind….
“How do I live this life?”
“How do I get everything done I need to get done and be who God created me to be?”
“How do I find out who God created me to be?”
“How much time do I spend praying and seeking, and when do I finally get up and start taking steps?”
“How do I know whether to step out in faith or keep waiting for an answer/specific guidance?”
And on and on…. Thank you Tsh, for this blog and for allowing the simpleness of pure living to be revealed. God’s best to you.
    Deborah
