Giveaway: $100 T-shirt Gift Certificate from Union 28

This giveaway is now closed. Check back soon for the winner!

Welcome to Simple Living Media’s Home for the Holidays! We’ve got 25 giveaways across the entire network this week to give you plenty of chances to win a great gift, just in time for the holidays.

Today I’m giving away a $100 gift certificate to Union 28, a little t-shirt company. But oh, they’re so much more than a t-shirt company — after all, check out their mission statement:

“It is our mission to encourage marriages and to honor the sacred covenant between a husband and his wife by communicating a positive image of marriage in a fun and stylish way.”

Their t-shirts, hoodies, and bags exist in order to celebrate marriage. How cool is that?

All five of us have one of their shirts, and anytime we wear one, we get comments galore — by strangers and friends alike. The most common response is, “I love your shirt! That is so cool. Where’d you get it?”

Learn more about this company, these t-shirts, and how to win a $100 gift certificate.

I picked up Tate from school one day, and came home greeted to this little guy:

Union 28 sent a package of their t-shirts while I was gone, and Kyle immediately threw them on everybody. I was smitten.

Tate jumped out of her school clothes and into her new shirt, and has hardly taken it off since (it’s pink, after all…). But she really does beam when people ask her, “Your mom rocks, eh?” Oh okay, I beam, too.

I swear, I don’t tell her to pose — she does it on her own volition. Like she did last Thanksgiving.

I love how well-fitting the t-shirts are, since I have a hard time finding shirts that fit me and my normal-sized body well. They’re classy, they’re silly, and they’re fun. But they’re also positive and affirming — I like to wear my “my husband rocks” shirt, and Kyle likes to wear his. Well, his “my wife rocks” shirt, but you know what I mean.

And no, we don’t wear them all at the same time. Look out! The Oxenreiders are here and they all love each other!, they would say. We take turns wearing them, keeping the level at classy and not cheesy.

Union 28 has hoodies, a wide variety of shirts, and even music. Want to tell people “my husband rocks?” How about “my wife rocks?”  How about “I love my husband” or “I love my wife?”  Got ’em.

This company is amazingly cool. Take this snippet from their site:

“…Some may say it’s a stretch to attribute marital improvement to a slogan or symbol on a t-shirt, but we know better. God intricately designed us to be affected by simple things. Why else would we get such joy from an ice cream cone on a hot day, be moved to tears by watching a new dad hold his baby for the first time, or feel completely withered by one harsh word?

“Maybe it will kindle or rekindle a desire in someone to let their spouse know how much he/she means rather than assume they know. Maybe it will open someone’s eyes to see the blessing they’ve been missing in their spouse. Maybe a couple will be inspired to take the steps to repair a wounded relationship so they can wear the same message and mean it with all their heart.

However God wants to use this message, wherever He wants to send it, whoever he wants to encourage by it or heal with it, may it be so.

Yes, they’re just t-shirts. But it’s quality-made, nice-looking, life-affirming clothing that I’m proud to support because the company values the things I value. That’s where I want my money to go.

Does your wife or husband rock? Do your kids think their mom or dad rocks? Give them a t-shirt for Christmas that says so, and watch them beam as they tear off the paper.

One Simple Mom reader will win a $100 gift certificate to Union 28!

  1. I think this would be a GREAT gift idea for my husband.
Of course he needs a “my wife rocks” tee 😀

I’d package up a “my husband rocks” tee in the same box…..

Then we could have a love fest on Christmas Day.
I don’t mind cheesy one bit.

  2. He makes dinner almost every night.

  3. My husband rocks because he does all the dishes during the week while I’m studying (I’m in med school). I couldn’t do med school with a kid without him!

  13. What a cool company! Of course, my husband needs one claiming that I rock … and I need one that says he does, too! And my boys need one that says both my husband and I rock…

After dealing with the stomach flu/digestive tract issues this week, my husband picked up the reins and took over: dinner, dishes, laundry, helping around the house, helping grade our boys’ school papers. Not only that, he loves me for being me – not the wife I should be or want to be – just me. He ROCKS! 🙂

  14. Leah Seydel says:

We just had our first child in June. My husband thinks it is important enough to have me stay at home with our daughter, he’s working 2nd shift to help make the one income work. He never complains. He’s such a hard worker and amazing man of God.

  15. My husband works hard so I can stay home with the kids, something I always wanted to be able to do!

  16. My husband rocks because he can always make me laugh!

  17. I’m a fan on FB!

  18. I’m pretty sure I married the perfect man. He adores me, he’s a great father, AND he cleans (because I am woefully inept at many household chores). He’s also a godly man who sets a great example for me in his spiritual life, and I hope my son turns out just like him!

  19. My husband works his tail off 10-12 hours daily outside in the cold rain (we live in WA), and hasn’t had a day off in over a month, yet when he comes home he still takes time to wrestle with the kids and we play board games. I know he’s tired, but he doesn’t really complain. It’s such a privilege to be a stay home homeschooling mama!

  21. I like Union 28 and Simple Mom on FB!

  22. Becky Kankelfritz says:

My husband rocks for so many reasons. One of my favorite things he’s ever done happened last year when I was pregnant with our son. I was in the hospital, on bed rest, because of toxemia. We have a daughter with special needs and no family around so bed rest was a huge problem for us. I was feeling really low, like I was letting every one down; my daughter, my husband, and my yet-to-be-born son.

And then, my husband walked into my hospital room wearing his Union 28 “My Wife Rocks” shirt. I started crying right then and my nurses all thought he was the sweetest guy ever. He is!

  23. Becky Kankelfritz says:

Because he can say the word “yeah” in a deep baritone that turns me to mush
Because he is my best friend, confidant, and life mate

  81. My husband rocks because he is an amazing man seeking to glorify Christ as he leads our church and remains humble while God is blessing the work here. I love him!
