About Tsh

Tsh is the founder of this blog and lives in Bend, Oregon with her husband and 3 kids. Her latest book is Notes From a Blue Bike, and believes a passport is one of the world's greatest textbooks.

Happy new year! Hope it’s off to a good start so far. After you pour that second cup of coffee because you stayed up too late last night, download these free goal-setting questions to help you dream about the next 365 days. Use them however you like—journal solo, talk about it this next week with your spouse, or take a chunk of questions at a time, all year long.

If you still want to reflect on last year before moving forward, download the reflection questions.

Also, my e-book, One Bite at a Time: 52 Projects For Making Life Simpler, is a popular book this time of year. If you’re interested in simplifying this upcoming year but are ironically overwhelmed at the hugeness of the task, this might be the guide you’re after. 52 tasks given to you in a one-at-a-time, take-a-breath format, for you to tackle at your own comfortable pace. Stuff like “start menu planning,” “organize your photo collection,” and “use the envelope system.”

Enjoy the e-book, enjoy both free downloads, and enjoy that caffeine today.

  1. I always love to use your questions! And I think this year I might get my husband in on it as well :-) I think I will have to look at that e-book again. I bought it last year, but could use a refresher I believe! Cheers!

  4. i realized after reading this post that I actually own your “organized simplicity” book and need to finish it. (That makes 15 instead of 14 books I need to finally finish). I’ll have to look over your questions, though I’ve done my new year planning already.

Your reflection and goal setting questions are now an integral part of our (hubby and me) New Years celebration since you started them in 2010. So glad you updated your PDFs to not include specific years because I tend to print them out early! lol Though I am printing out your goal setting questions right now!

Wish you had your 52 Bites in EPUB format though…PDF is rather clunky on my E-Reader. Perhaps this year?

    Thank so much,
    Sarah

  8. These are such wonderful resources. Goal-setting is not a strength of mine. I look forward to reading through the questions. That bundle is unbelievable!!! Thanks!

  9. Fantastic questionnaire. I don’t do too many resolutions, but I do like setting tangible goals for myself, and it seems like your questionnaire covers many aspects in a person’s life. Thanks for sharing.

  10. I was just thinking about your book again today! I think I might go ahead and try going off of shampoo. Here’s my review of your book: http://teachingmybabytoread.blog.com/2012/09/30/one-bite-at-a-time-52-projects-for-making-life-simpler/

  11. Perfect. I’ve been feeling very reflective today, probably because I’ve been spending it on the couch recouping from a late night last night. I’ve written my goals (13 for 2013) and wrote a 5 year plan after I read one of your old posts. I put a link up on my blog today directing my small number of readers to your page.

  13. Great questions! I am doing something similar over at the blog where I have created a finish list. http://shimergap.blogspot.com/2012/11/finish-year-2013-creating-finish-list.html
I am not good at new year’s resolutions so this year we are just going to do a “simple” checklist! Good luck in the new year everybody!

  14. Tsh, I love these! Such a simplified way to get our minds racing. I am a believer of “goals” instead of resolutions myself and have a free printable on creating a New Year’s Action Plan that goes perfectly with these questions. I’m going to let me readers know about this. Thanks for posting them.
