Monday links

Today, while you’re reading through these links of posts I was inspried by this past week, I’ll be at home snapping some photos and taking notes for my annual participation in Rebekah’s Day in the Life photo challenge.

Check in on Instagram (@nicolevbennett) for some peeks into my day and then I’ll share it with you tomorrow. If you want to join in, Friday is the linkup day. It’s so fun seeing what others’ days look like!

And if you’re a homeschooler, my friend Jamie is doing something similar, but a series, featuring a variety of different homeschooling families’ Day in the Life.

  • Did you know chicken stock could lend itself to a beautifully romantic blog post? Head over to Aimee’s post on Simple Bites to swoon over stock and young love.
  • I sometimes hear people complaining about Pinterest making them feel inadequate  and to be honest I just don’t feel that way about it. I find it extremely useful and inspiring rather than overwhelming. Anne explains this dichotomy of feelings about Pinterest quite well over at Modern Mrs. Darcy.
  • Clipboards are so convenient to use and such a fun way to display art and inspiration. Why did I never think to make my own? Good think the Emma at A Beautiful Mess did (and they’re lovely and rustic, too)!
  • I’ve got my eye on some embroidery and crafty valentines projects, so I’m glad my friend Jess whipped up a little tutorial on how to do a blanket stitch over and If Only They Would Nap. It’s such a cozy little stitch!

Nicole lives near the beach in Southern California with her husband and three young kiddos. She writes a a lifestyle blog about creativity, family life, community, and all sorts of other fun stuff, and also keeps a homeschool journal called The Bennettar Academy. Her most recent (free!) ebook is about why and how to make more time for reading.

  1. I just loved Aimee’s post, and I needed that blanket stitch refresher before V-Day crafts!
    (Thanks for including me!)

Looking forward to seeing your Day in the Life pics 🙂

  2. What a great list. I especially enjoyed the post about Pinterest. I held off joining for a long time, out of concern for my time mostly, but I can see other pitfalls, like discontent, being possible.

  3. I’m looking forward to seeing your pictures! Just try to keep all the warm weather photos to a minimum. I can’t handle the jealousy. 🙂

  4. Nice to be here and see your post! Thank you for sharing so much!
