Welcome to Simple Living Media’s  Home for the Holidays!  We’ve got 25 giveaways across the entire network this week to give you plenty of chances to win a great gift, just in time for the holidays.

Remember that secret gift for Tate I mentioned in my vlog last Friday? Well, today you get to find out what it is:

Yep, today I’m giving away a multi-level, solid wood dollhouse from Melissa & Doug. I absolutely cannot wait to give it to my almost-six-year-old girl, who’ll most definitely go nuts over this. This will be her main Christmas gift this year!

Valued at $150, this dollhouse is move-in ready (ha!) and comes with 19 pieces of moveable furniture. Perfect for hours of open-ended play for kids of many ages.

Learn more about this little sweet dollhouse and how to win it.

I was thrilled to learn that this dollhouse on its way was almost two feet tall and two feet wide — so I was surprised upon arrival when the box didn’t really seem all that big. Ah. Assembly required. Time to get out the tools.

But actually, it wasn’t that hard. In fact, it was easy. Kyle only needed his screwdriver and the included diagrams, and voila — a standing dollhouse in the time it takes to assemble Ikea shelving.

This dollhouse is adorable. It’s pink and purple — my daughter’s favorite colors (and I’d wager to guess, if your daughter is younger than 10, that those are her’s as well). But these aren’t shmarmy, saccharine shades; they’re classically sweet colors made for little girls. They remind me of ice cream.

AND — this thing is solid wood. Completely! Not one plastic piece of furniture or door in the set. The entire thing is made of wood, and it just feels well-made, like most Melissa & Doug products. This dollhouse will probably be handed down to Tate’s daughter one day, Lord-willing.

Melissa and Doug have been in business for over 20 years — yep, they’re actual people! Their products are known for quality, and pass all kinds of tests to ensure the toys you see are safe and ready for hours of play. I love that they create simple, well-made toys that aren’t trendy — all Melissa & Doug preschool dollhouses speak to a generation that values healthy, open-ended play that encourages creativity and strengthens a child’s imagination. Quite a few of our family’s all-time favorite toys are from Melissa & Doug.

Here’s what I love best about this dollhouse: it’s a classic, durable toy that will stand to hours of play and hopefully last generations. In a culture filled with Bratz and plastic princesses gone wild, my heart fills with joy to find toys that nurture my child’s innocence. Little girls should play with toys that inspire their creativity, not make them feel like they need to look or dress a certain way to be pretty. This dollhouse — like all their wooden dollhouses — fits the bill perfectly. Merry Christmas to you, sweet Tate.

One Simple Mom reader will win a  multi-level, solid wood dollhouse from Melissa & Doug!

  1. oh my! i would gift this to my one, and only, niece. it is definitely a wonderful piece! thanks!

  2. I would gift this dollhouse to my 6 year old girl who has been asking for a big girl dollhouse, knowing her little brother would love it just as much as her. I can already hear the giggles. :)

  3. This would be for my vivacious, almost 4 year old daughter whose imagination would fill this house with life.

  4. I would give this to my daughter. She’s nine and still loves playing with dolls. I’ve worked hard at keeping her a kid. She has all the time in the world for cell phones, tvs in her room and computers, being a kid only lasts for so long. I’m so happy I’ve been able to keep her a kid too, she doesn’t know any different. The worst is that friends of hers have cell phones. She is such a great kid, a fantastic big sister and really so much like me. :)

  5. My daughter is only 7 weeks old, but I’m pretty sure she needs a dollhouse (in fact, she could almost fit in the dollhouse!).

  6. I followed both and tweeted.

  7. I would give this gift to my daughter. She is still a baby but I would love to save it for her to give her when she is old enough. I think that would be special.

  8. Oh my goodness, this is so cute! A doll house is #1 on my 4 year old daughters wish list (and I’m a kid at heart, I’d love it too)! She said to me the other day, “Maybe Santa knows how much I’ve been cleaning my room and he’ll know right where to put it for Christmas.” Gotta love kids, they’re too cute!

  9. I tweeted (@CookCleanCraft)

  10. my 3 sweet girls, all under age 6, would be the recipients of this adorable doll house, should we be so very lucky to win it. We love Melissa & Doug toys here, you are right – they are all well made, durable, encourage open-ended play, and hurray for no plastic!

  11. I can’t wait to get one of these for my sweet daughter! She’d love it. :)

  12. This would be a gift my 5 year old would share with her 2 year old sister. These girls are everything to me: a budding artist and fine vocalist, the 5 year old patiently showers her sister with her wisdom and they certainly are capable of sharing (usually) and right now they have a doll house that was a hand-me down from the 70s and it’s on it’s last leg.
    I’m not a mom- I’m a dad so I hope that doesn’t dq me :)

  13. I love M&D toys! I would give it to my daughter, Addison. Not only is Christmas coming up, but her birthday is in January & she would love this! She is special to me because she is my only daughter, and she knows she’s a princess! :)

  14. I have three precious girlies – not quite 3, 20 months, and 2 months. The Lord surprised us with these princesses after years of wondering if we’d ever have children, and now I’m so thrilled that they are getting old enough to start loving the little things that make being a girl such fun… This dollhouse would be a delight for years to come as they all three play together! :-)

  15. MY 3.5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WOULD RECEIVE THIS, HER LAST DOLLHOUSE WAS PLASTIC AND HER BROTHER BROKE IT ON ACCIDENT..MY SANTA MONEY IS ALREADY SPENT ON A PLAYKITCHEN…=(
SHE LOVES PRETEND PLAY AND DOLLIES

  16. My 2 yr old daughter would just love a doll house such as this!! She is special just for being her and for allowing me to return to my childhood and create so many special memories with her through playing and growing together.

I’m also a new follower for both of you on Twitter and about to tweet about this fabulous giveaway!

  17. I followed both and tweeted it! Yay!

My sweet daughter, Josie, would be the new owner of this beautiful house. And, I’m sure that her almost 6 year old brother would get in on the action as well…

  19. I would give this dollhouse to my daughter who is 5 years old. She is special and warms my heart every time she comes home from school yelling ‘HI MOM!’

  20. my first-born and only daughter would receive it. she brings a lot of joy and laughter to my life and i heart her. :)

  21. my nieces would love this dollhouse!

  22. I’d give this to my daughter Sawyer. She’s the youngest of 3 & the only girl so I bet she will appreciate something “girly.”

  23. My two little girls *4 and 2.5
They are amazing and teach me more about myself, about God, and about love every day.

  24. This would be for my (favorite) niece Taylor. She just turned two and she’s always getting in the way of her older sisters. (She’s been likened to Godzilla when she gets in the way while they’re playing with their dolls.)

  25. My sweet little girl (26 months) would receive this and love it to pieces!

    Sarah Bruce says:

I would give this dollhouse to my daughter when her brother is born. Our life is chaos right now, with two job changes in the last month, an upcoming move into a larger home, and me heading back to college for my bachelor’s degree. I would really like to have something special for Aurora to receive from her new brother to begin a great connection among the chaos rather than have her get the feeling that her new brother is nothing but more chaos.

    Christina B says:

I can’t wait to give this dollhouse to my 3year old baby girl! :)

  28. My daughter and son would both get this (even though it is pink. They LOVE Melissa & Doug toys!! They are both VERY special to me in more ways than I can list! We are SO lucky to have them!!

  29. my baby girl, abi, would be the very lucky recipient of this doll house. even though she is not yet 1 i know she will have years of use out of this gorgeous toy! maybe even her own daughter will enjoy it one day :)

  30. Tweeted! :)

  31. my three year old pink and purple loving princess is turning four the week of christmas, so i might just win mama of the century if this was her present. i am the special one that an amazing girl like her is my daughter.

  32. I would give this to my 2 year old daughter. She will have many more years to grow into it! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this doll house.

  33. avatar
    Susan Lin says:

After secretly playing with it myself, it will go to my daughter, Jadis, who is “the patient one.” Her twin brother Isaac always wants to play with the toy she is playing with and she always finds something else to play without much fuss. I think she’ll hold on to this one though.

    Danielle Krouch says:

This dollhouse would go to our daughter who will be born in January! I can’t wait to see her play with beautiful toys like these.

  35. My almost 4 yr old would get this dollhouse. I’ve been eyeing it for awhile. She is special because she has such a big personality and she wears every emotion on her sleeve. She is truly one of a kind.

  36. My dear friend’s daughter would get this – I have four boys and my friend has a young son so this baby girl deserves some pink and Gorky stuff in her life for putting up with all the boys!

  37. Our three-year-old daughter would receive this. And she would undoubtedly love it!

  38. What a sweet dollhouse. My daughter would LOVE this! She’s 2.5 and already such a little mother to her baby brother and dollies. I know she would enjoy this for years to come. Thanks for the chance to win!

  39. My daughters, Kaeleigh and Paige. I am phasing out all the plastic Fischer price toys they have for health reasons. They are special to me for many obvious reasons, but the one that may be unique is that I am adopted and they are the only known connection to my flesh and blood that I have. I look at them and can see myself in them and it’s surprising and exciting every single time! They and their brother light up my life like strings of bulbs on a Christmas tree!

  40. My 4 year old daughter would love this doll house! The gift I never thought God would give me, but finally did after 17 years. She keeps me grounded when life gets crazy and melts my heart on a daily basis. She’s my best friend.

  41. My 4-year old daughter has contentedly been playing with an older, hand-me-down playhouse that has seen far better days. She would FLIP OUT over this!!

  42. avatar
    Stephannie says:

This would go to my daughter (and any other girls that may join our family in the years to come). I tell her often how special she is for many reasons including the fact that she made my dream come true of being a mother when she was born.

  43. My youngest daughter would get this dollhouse. Why? She is using my potato bin (3 different levels) to play house in! LOL Yes, I think she needs a dollhouse! :)

  44. my daughter would receive this and love it. as she was born with 2 older brothers and her world is cars and trains which she loves but also loves these!!!

  45. This would be for my sweet daughter Kathleen. It’s lovely!

I would give this to the little girl I teach English to – Amaya. She’s very special because the time we share is always fun and she makes me feel at home here.

    Gillianne says:

My soon to be 4 year old daughter would receive the doll house. She is special to me in many ways but the biggest is that she put up with inconsistancy in her days due to my auto imune disorders. She never complains when I can’t get on the floor and play with her. She is a wonderful daughter and we both love Melissa and doug products. She would be super thrilled to have a home for all her babies

  48. This would be for my daughters. They’re special to me because they teach me so much about life and love everyday.

  49. My 3-year-old son would like this. He loves to play pretend and could probably do so for a long time with this.

  50. Wow, great doll house! I know my 3.5 year old daughter would LOVE it.

  51. My daughter, she is my youngest and will be my “baby”

  52. My three-year-old daughter would LOVE this (and she would eventually share it with her now-two-month-old sister). She spends hours playing with Little People and this would be the perfect next step. And pink and purple? Of course!!

  53. My almost 7 y/o daughter would be getting this. I do have to say that her stuffed animals would use it more than any dolls.

  54. The dollhouse would go to my goddaughter, a sweet 4 yr old that would treasure this gift!

  55. I would give it to my cousin’s sweet girl. They are moving from Maine to Pa. in a few weeks, and this would make such a cool gift for their new home!

  56. I would get this for my almost-3 year old niece. she would grow into but I know would LOVE it. she’s our only niece and is just the most wonderful, spunky, and beautiful little girl I’ve ever met :)

  57. My almost 8 year old daughter would receive it…..and I have a feeling I’d never see her again. She would be too busy playing with it. All. Day. Long.

  58. avatar
    MangoTreeMama says:

Ooh! I’d give it to my 2 girlies, ages (almost)5 & 6, on the 5 year old’s birthday coming up. Her birthday has always been lost in the flurry of the season, this would be an eye-popping way to bring it to the forefront! Since I know Melissa & Doug’s quality, I know it could be passed down to their 2 (so far) younger sisters. We all enjoy gazing at dollhouses & paraphernalia in craft stores, but they are way beyond our budget right now, so this would totally knock their socks off :0D

  59. My daughter would be the special child who would receive this house. She’d love to create and pretend with this beautiful toy. One of her many qualities that I love is her creativity.

  60. avatar
    Lindsay Sledge says:

I would give this to my six year old daughter Selah. She is very special. She almost died this year after being hit by a car. She has since almost fully recovered even though the doctors said she wouldn’t. She would love this!

  61. Oh how I would love to win this for my 2 year old daughter. She is the light of my life, and loves her little people doll house, this one would blow her away!

  62. My sweet, precious four year old daughter would be the recipient. She has a great imagination and is the spice in our lives.

  63. avatar
    Cheryl E. says:

My 5 year old daughter would love this…..she always plays with the one they have at Pottery Barn Kids whenever we are in the store.

    canuck_grad says:

I would have given it to my 4 year old niece, but she already has a wooden dollhouse. So I think I’d keep it for my son lol – he loves playing with her dollhouse when he visits. And then we’d keep it for any future little ones, of course.

  65. I would actually gift this dollhouse to my son. He has been asking for this, but I have been hesitant to purchase him one. He is learning to be a good daddy by playing “house” for several years. He turns 6 on Christmas day. He is the most imaginative, loving, funny little boy I know!

  66. My firstborn daughter Rosie would love this gift.

  67. avatar
    Jennifer G. says:

I would give this house to my little girl, Maggie. She’s the beautiful gift I prayed for since I was a little girl, and after 3 boys, God finally gave her to us. I always wanted a doll house like this, so I guess it would be fitting to be able to give it to her.

  68. I would give this dollhouse to my daughter. She is an amazing preschooler with a great imagination. She means the world to me.

  73. My 3-year old Ava is so special to me, being my firstborn and such a sweet little girl. She would love to have this dollhouse!

  74. Oh I’d love this for my 2 1/2 year old daughter — have been wanting to get her a dollhouse and this looks perfect!

  75. This would be a great gift for my daughter! As a Dad to just one little girl right now I am learning to embrace dollhouses, kitchen sets, and dolls. It’s great to see my daughter using her imagination and this would be a great gift for her.

  76. My lovely 2 year old daughter would receive this dollhouse. We recently came across one in a store and she was ENTHRALLED. She is special to me because she gave me the greatest gift I could have asked for – motherhood!

  77. Oh Lydia, the daughter of dear friend would love this, Her birthday is in December and she will be 3, so I am sure she would love it, and I would love to be able to give it to her, she gives me the best hugs and kisses all the time!

I would love to give this to my daughter Sophie for Christmas!

  80. LOVE that dollhouse! I would give mine to my six year old daughter, who would surely swoon.

  81. A dollhouse is on the wish list of both my daughter and my niece. I think if I won this one I’d have to pass off the one I purchased for my daughter to my niece and keep this one for my little princess. That’s a tough one, but it would be a good dilemma to have.

  82. I would give this to my five year old. She is the sweetest little lady and would really love this!

  83. avatar
    Starla McCormick says:

My seven year old Faith would get it, she is the youngest in the family and this year her wish for christmas was a dollhouse. This year we chose name in our family of five and are only buying whose name we picked because dad and I are back in school after both retiring from the military. I would like to when this for Faith because she is the youngest and she is use to getting all the hand me downs and really nothing this awesome new.

  84. My daughter Cora would be the lucky one!

  85. My six year old daughter would enjoy this doll house so much! She does not play with dolls much, but she has little spool-y dolls (little doll figures made out of thread spools). They would fit perfectly in that Melissa and Doug house.

  86. I’d have to draw names out of a hat for one of my three nieces!

  87. This dollhouse would be for my 4 year old daughter. She loves pretend play, and can spend hours playing with her Little People. Now that she’s a great big 4yo, I know she’d love a big girl dollhouse!

  88. Oh goodness. I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter, Eveley Joy, that would LOVE this. And I’m sure I would love it to as it would surely provide hours of good play. =) Praying you pick me!!

  91. This would be a joint gift for our 3-1/2 year old and 1-1/2 year old daughters. (And I might secretly play with it too! :)

  92. Our family has lived in SE Asia for six years. We now have two girls, 3 1/2 and 1 1/2, with a boy on the way. These great toys are hard to come by. We would get the grandparents to bring it over as a spectacular gift for the girls who would enjoy it for years.

  93. My 6-year-old daughter absolutely LOVES doll houses. Anytime she sees one in a catalog or while out shopping she has the sweetest way of asking for another doll house. When I say she already has one she says, “but Mommy, I don’t have THAT one!”

  94. avatar
    Tracey A. says:

My two year old little girl would be getting this dollhouse. She is such a fun little girl and would love it! :)

  95. This gorgeous dollhouse would go to my daughter, who, at two, has the kind of imagination people dream about.

  96. Either my daughter, or perhaps my niece.

  97. I would give this to my 2 and a half year old niece. She’s my godchild and a very creative and dramatic little girl, and I think she would love something like this to create in. She’s very much into the girl colors as well, so this would be great. :)

  98. I also tweeted about it! http://twitter.com/LeahCoppo

  99. I would LOVE to win this dollhouse for my niece. She is such a little blessing and the only girl I can buy for! I’m a big fan of Melissa & Doug, but could never afford this. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to win it!
