This is going to be a condensed Link Love Saturday because we leave early tomorrow morning.  Be remembering me as you rejoice in not having to wake your children at 3 a.m. for a 6 a.m. international flight.

Here’s what I’ve enjoyed this week, in my miniscule spare time:

Since we leave tomorrow, and since we’ll be dealing with a 8-hour time change, I’ll be pretty swamped.  I’m guessing I’ll have my hands pretty full with children who want to wake up and play at 3 a.m.  So I’ve arranged a fantastic line-up of guest posters for the next little bit. Seriously – you readers are in for a treat.

The next time you hear from me here on Simple Mom, I’ll be touching American soil.  I’m looking forward to it!

  3. Wow! I’ve been enjoying your blog for just a few weeks now – reading and rereading lots of your posts. Imagine my surprise to see a link today to my pencil pocket tutorial! Thank you!

  4. Thanks for the lesson on cross cultural kids…my daughter and hubby live overseas and probably will for a lifetime. I have grieved over the prospect of them raising babies so far away ( they dont have any yet, but are thinking about starting a family), but mostly for selfish reasons. Your article reminded me of many truths that I have been ignoring just because I dont want to be so far away from their little lives. Thank the Lord for email and Skype! Tell me ways that your family ministers to you and your little ones to keep you all close despite the big pond between you. It’s hard sometimes and nobody ever thinks about how much the parents of expats feel..maybe you should hook me up with your mom! :) keep up the good work – I have told all my young mom friends about your blog! Happy Traveling!

  5. While you’re on the plane (and if there’s a moment you have free…) write us up a blog post on traveling internationally with kids!

p.s. my husband is also a “3rd culture kid” and we refer to that fact often.

  6. Have a safe trip!
