Giveaway: KitchenAid 7-Quart Stand Mixer

This giveaway is now closed. Check back soon for the winner!

To the one lucky winner of today’s Home for the Holidays giveaway: I understand if you may want to name your next child after me. Just remember the lack of vowel can trip people—it’s pronounced like “Tish.”

Oh yes, indeed. Today I’m not just giving away a KitchenAid mixer—I’m giving away a 7-Quart Bowl-Lift Residential Stand Mixer. SEVEN.

It’s so big, the arm at the top doesn’t even lift—the bowl itself does. This mixer belongs in a professional restaurant kitchen. But guess what? Instead, it’s going to one of YOUR kitchens.

Valued at $900, this mixer will stay in your family for generations. You’ll be making Christmas cookies with your children, your children’s children, your children’s children’s… well, you get the idea. KitchenAid mixers are built to last—it’s THE reliable brand for quality stand mixers.

Mine is quietly sitting on my counter right now, and I just like to stare at it. It’s gorgeous. Learn more about KitchenAid and how to win this beauty.

Needless to say, I was more than happy to test out my new mixer for this post. I started with Aimée’s shortbread recipe.

As mentioned in the included user guide, this KitchenAid mixer mixes faster and more thoroughly than standard mixers, so the mixing time in most recipes will need to be adjusted to avoid overbeating. It says that cakes will probably take half as long. Goodness.

It’s also their quietest model to date.

Included are the 11-wire Elliptical Whip, coated metal Flat Beater, Power Knead Dough Hook, and a Pouring Shield. The polished stainless steel bowl is also equipped with a sturdy handle, as it should—the thing can hold 8.5 pounds of mashed potatoes, 8.5 loaves of bread, or 14 dozen cookies.

So, you know, if you were ever in the mood to bake a little something.

I whipped up four dozen cookies in this bowl. Look how much room there is. And yes, that’s Finn’s hand—he was “helping.”

KitchenAid (the company) started with their legendary mixer back in 1919. Since then, they’ve built an entire kitchen’s worth of products, all known for quality craftsmanship. When it comes to appliances I want to last a long time, I buy for the brand. Is there really another mixer that can compare to KitchenAid’s?

One Simple Mom reader will win a  7-Quart Bowl-Lift Residential Stand Mixer from KitchenAid in your choice of colors—candy apple red, medallion silver, black storm, or white.

My husband and I just had an “Angels Amongst Us” moment tonight. The holidays have been so difficult for us this year with having lost so many loved ones recently. He had asked me to find his grandmother’s recipe for her much loved oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. However, our family recipe box was long lost in a move two years ago. Tonight, I opened a pantry cabinet and there was the recipe card propped up at eye level hand-written in grandma’s own writing. Needless to say, we both cried! I would love to make those cookies for him in the new Kitchen Aid mixer!! 🙂

    • Jannet I’m so happy you found that card 😀 the holidays here have been tearful as well my husband lost both of his parents this year and of course the holidays were always a big deal at his home. I love to bake cookies, cakes, breads and pies. Chocolate chip cookies are always a favorite, but we tend to add a twist to all of our recipes. My Kitchen-Aid is over 25 years old and belonged to my father. My daughters and I have enjoyed using it to make cookies and home made gifts for people. My oldest daughter is notorious for ensuring the mailman/lady have cookies, especially when it’s cold outside. A new kitchen aid mixer would be a great addition to our family – especially since my daughter plans to move out soon. Then, she can continue to bless people with home made goodies!

There are days when I don’t even want to eat (or I’ve already eaten) and I’ll make something for my four roommates because I need to take a break.

In any case, I love making things like crepes and whipped cream to go on my crepes – so delicious! But you don’t bake crepes, so if I had to go with something I love to BAKE specifically, I would probably side with (grandma knows best) my grandma’s home made pumpkin pie. Mmmm!
