Grace before

Whether or not you celebrate Thanksgiving this Thursday, remember to give thanks for the many blessings in your life.

You say grace before meals. All right. But I say, grace before the concert and the opera, and grace before the play and pantomime, and grace before I open a book, and grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing and grace before I dip the pen in the ink. -GK Chesterton

  1. I discovered this quote last year — maybe here? Such a beautiful way to look at things. Happy Thanksgiving to you!

  2. Great quote and great reminder, that we should give thanks continually.

  3. We may not call it grace but, we say blessings on all foods we eat, and after we are done eating. (in Judaism)We say blessings after we wake up to thank G-d for allowing us to wake up and we even have a blessing after coming out of the rest room. You get to realize how important that is when you can’t use the rest room so easily.

  4. A lovely reminder of the beauty and richness that comes from the simple act of gratitude for what we have rather than focusing on what we don’t.

  5. “Pray without ceasing” really fits well here; thank you for the beautiful reminder. – Fawn
