EntreLeadership (giveaway!)

This giveaway has now ended. Check back soon for the results!

This past spring, I attended a satellite feed in Austin of Dave Ramsey’s EntreLeadership one-day seminar. I left feeling jazzed about my work, stoked about the ideas percolating in my head, and motivated to get long-awaited ideas finally moving.

You may not agree with everything Dave says about money, but you’ve got to admit—he’s one heck of an entrepreneur. He built something major out of negative personal circumstances, and his business is growing like wildfire. He’s also an amazing leader, and knows how to motivate, encourage, and serve well.

Today, his new book of the same name releases. EntreLeadership is for anyone working, whether you’re employed by a Fortune 500 company or you’re setting up a cottage industry from your dining room table.

We’ve talked a lot on Simple Mom about working from home. If this is even an inkling of an interest for you, then you’ll need this book. EntreLeadership is his seminar on business leadership in book form.

Want to win one? Dave is giving 10 Simple Mom readers a copy of his new book!

  11. Barbara Jones says:

My husband and I attended one of Dave’s Entreleadership one day simulcasts last year and it was wonderful. We have been through his Financial Peace program and it was a wonderful experience too, and we are still learning everyday from that. I have ordered one of Dave’s new books for my husband for our 20th Wedding anniversary and I would love to have a copy for myself too so that we can read and study it together. We have been running a family business together for over 10 years and we are open to good advice from anyone who has gone ahead of us.

  15. JoAnn Wills says:

I have been a self-employed massage therapist for over eight years, and I am also an MBA – Leadership concentration student. Recently, I have had to step away from massage therapy due to an over-use injury. I would love to utilize my MBA learnings to add services at my studio to asssit people with time management skills. I think Dave’s new book could be the hallmark of Leadership learnings for the general population. I have a small home library and Dave Ramesey’s books have been a staple in my tiny home library. Many friends and family members have benefited from Dave’s words of wisdom because he is straight forward and succinct in his approach and he simplifies the process so that ALL improve their quality of life.

  16. I would love to win this book. It has been on my list to purchase as soon as it was released. I have worked for 28 years for others and am thinking about starting a home business. I love Dave Ramsey and can’t wait to read this book and put his ideas into practice!

  21. mia goldstein says:

At this time in our lives, this book would be a blessing to my family. We have a very blessed life that has provided us many opportunities of which we’ve done well and not so well with. We currently have some major life decisions to make that if we had planned better (and in all honesty been more responsible) we’d be breezing through. But we are taking responsibility for the challenges we’ve brought on ourselves and getting back on track and this would be extremely helpful. Thank you for offering this giveaway!

  22. With a full-time job, I am struggling to be succesful with 3 home-based businesses. I would love to read this book for ideas, support, etc.

  23. Juli Chambers says:

I would like to have this book but more importantly I would like to give this book to someone special to me 🙂 I am a single Mom of 4 kids, I am tattooed all over, I have a horrible work history and an even worse credit history…I was unemployed for over a year when I felt ready to do whatever I could to make money (not a good thing).
I ended up posting my resume on Craigslist and at first got nothing but perverts and scams. After about a week I got a different response. I was offered to meet and discuss a position as an Administrative position. To make a long story short, I was given a chance and a great job! My Boss runs a small IT business and has wonderful values. He is strong and encouraging. When no one would look past my ugly shell, my boss reached out and made me part of his family. I would like to give this book to him to help his business succeed 🙂

  24. Oh man, I have so many ideas for businesses…but I no direction or focus for which to pursue more, etc.. so it would be great to have some clear direction.

  25. Thank you for the opportunity. I haven’t read Dave Ramsey before, but would like to explore further.

  26. I am a Dave Ramsey fan and currently working full-time outside the home, but am mentally exploring other options and would love to check out this book.

  27. Leadership sets the tone for any organization, big or small. Positive leadership encourages initiative and empowers at every level. That is a very good thing! I fully subscribe to the 10 Principles of Leadership, as follows:

    1. Know yourself and seek self-improvement. In order to know yourself, you have to understand your “be”, “know”, and “do” attributes. This is possible by continually strengthening your attributes by reading and self-study.
    2. Be technically proficient. As a leader, you must know your job and have a solid familiarity with your employees’ jobs.
    3. Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions. Search for ways to guide your organization to new heights. And when things go wrong, do not blame others, but seek ways to prevent the situation from being repeated through your own self-improvement and management strategies.
    4. Make sound and timely decisions. Use good problem solving, decision-making, and planning consultation and tools. Use the knowledge of others to augment your own for the overall good of the organization.
    5. Set the example. Be a good role model for your employees. They will believe what they see not what they hear.
    6. Know your people and look out for their well-being. Know human nature and the importance of sincerely caring for your workers.
    7. Keep your people informed. Know how to communicate with your people, seniors, and other key people within the organization.
    8. Develop a sense of accountability, ownership and responsibility in your people. These traits will help them carry out their professional responsibilities.
    9. Ensure that tasks are understood, supervised, and accomplished. Communication is the key to this responsibility.
    10. Train your people as a team. By developing team spirit, you will be able to employ your organization, department, section, etc. to its fullest capabilities.

Thanks for posting this great item, Tsh. : )

  28. This would be a great read for my husband and I. He is a self employed carpenter and has been struggling as of late. I think this would be a great boost for us. Thanks for the chance!

  29. With a full-time job, I am struggling to be succesful with 3 home based businesses. I would love to read this book for advice, ideas, etc.

  30. I am in the very beginning process of getting my handmade business started. This would be a great help.

  31. SO much in my life has changed since I discovered Dave Ramsey, including starting my own business after learning more about his friend, Dan Miller. I’ve heard so much about this book and would love to read it.

  32. I would love to win this book! Having recently started my own business, I have LOTS of how to questions and certainly looking for a positive direction! Thanks!

  33. I am getting my purse line started and would love a copy of this book! Everyday life is such a priority especially when you have kids, so it would be nice to read Dave’s book to help figure out how to HAVE IT ALL….family & my dream!

  34. My husband runs his own business very well, but he needs this book as he expands and adds employees! Thanks for sharing this with us!

  35. Between my writing coaching and my husbands solo law practice (in which he deals with a lot of entrepreneurs) we could really use this book!

  36. Would love to win this book. Our family has been working our way through Dave’s Financial Peace on our own and have loved it. His writing is very matter-of-fact and easy to implement with lots of prayer and motivation. I have owned a small business for 14 years and know there are a lot of things that I could be doing differently. We want to teach our young children how to run their own business …. starting small now and, hopefully, in the future have their own livlihood from a business of their own.

  37. I would love to read this book! Thanks for the chance.

  38. We are huge Dave Ramsey fans at our house, and this book would be incredible to win.

  39. Dave’s concepts have helped our family get out of debt and move towards a financially stable future. I’m looking forward to reading his new book and seeing how it might apply to my at home mom job in which I’m always working for my family as well as numerous volunteer projects.

  40. My husband is in the process of starting his first business, and I want to support him as best I can as he is striving to support his family!! He is so passionate about his faith, his wife, his 10 month old daughter and what he wants to do with his life. This book could help him achieve his goals! I would LOVE to win this book for him!! 🙂

  41. We are big Dave fans and have our own business. We’d love to win
    and read this book!

  42. After reading Organized Simplicity, and One Bite at a Time, I finally decided to stop working outside the home and work on, as well as from my home! This book would be extremely useful and appreciated!

  43. I have a nature photography business, but we seem to be stuck in a rut. Dave’s book sounds like just what I need to unstick my business and possibly shift my paradigm as well.

  44. I love Dave Ramsey! He’s done so much for people and our society in general. Beans & rice; rice & beans! Love it! I’d love to read this book. My hub & I have been talking about inventing products and/or starting a business for almost 10 years but we don’t. I think hub has fear of failure (mr. perfectionist) and I have fear of success (ms. lower-confidence), BUT we have great ideas! I’m hoping to open a small online biz soon or it may be delayed again. (because what happens if I get 500 orders? ) We have a few of Dave’s tapes, but have never been able to attend his programs in person. Thank you Tsh, for offering this great prize!

  45. Laura Hildebrandt says:

Good morning Tsh. My husband and I have been self-employed for over 20 years, and it seems, raising our 4 kids, that there just isn’t ever enough earned to put away for retirement and family vacations. We are not afraid of hard work and diligence, but it just never seems to go far enough. We need advice from one who has new ideas and methods. Dave Ramsey has such a good reputation as the “money-guy”, that I am sure he has some amazing ideas on how to run your business smarter and wiser. Please enter us in your book giveaway for Dave’s new book, EntreLeadership. Thanks, Laura

  46. As a Mompreneur who is trying to transition her business into a new entity, I could definitely use some leadership advice. I’d love a copy of the book.

  47. Melissa Vandermeer says:

I would LOVE to win this book. Thank you for the opportunity. I am starting an open marketplace online for families and could use all the help possible!

    Thank you!

  48. We would love to win Dave’s new book! We have our own business and it is possible that we will need to expand it soon. We would love to read Dave’s wisdom in this area. Thanks so much for a great giveaway!

  49. This book would be a great addition to my arsenal of “work” resources. Thanks for the give-away!

  50. Anna Schulte says:

The main reason I want to win is for my husband. He has a passion to pursue something other than his regular 9 to 5, but is still trying to figure out how to do that. This book would be a fantastic tool to help him in that journey. I want to encourage and support him, but often don’t know exactly how. We really appreciate Dave’s ministry and have facilitated multiple Financial peace university classes at our own church. Thanks for taking my plea into consideration. =)

  51. I would love to win this book because I am new,

new to this site, new to blogging, newly qualified, fairly new to parenting and with a burning desire to do something, well, NEW.

  52. Tsh, as a male subscriber, I love the blog. I do share in many of the typical ‘mom’ activities at home. I work full-time and I’m building a business part-time outside that.

I’m a big fan of Dave’s too. From his shows to FPU, I’m sure this book will be right up my alley to keep me focused on my goals.

    Thanks for considering me!

  53. I’d absolutely love to win this book! My husband is an entrepreneur (so the book would be awesome just for that) and we’ve been talking a lot lately about educating our sons in pursuing their own paths and not just teaching them to be good employees. I’d LOVE to incorporate something like this into our homeschool curriculum!

  54. I would like to get a copy of this book. I was recently laid off and am looking for new opportunities and ideas to help me start the next journey in life! I am wondering if I should start my own business and how to go about it! Thanks!

  55. I would love to win this book because 1) I love Dave Ramsey’s other books and 2) I’ve always wanted to start my own business and I think this book would be a great resource. Thanks!

  56. It would be great to win this and get some guidance on getting my creative biz up and running. (running well)
    mukweto (at) gmail (dot) com

  57. I love Dave Ramsey. Reading his book got my husband and I communicating about our finances and although we still have a ways to go, we are now on the right path to financial freedom! I would love to win this book because it is authored by someone that I greatly respect AND I desire deeply to get my “own” thing really going and growing! Thanks Tsh!

  58. I stay at home and homeschool our five children (ages 11, 9, 6, 2, and 5 months.) In 2007 I started a business writing personal memoirs and family history books. My current big project involves writing memoirs for the families of five men who died in combat in Afghanistan.

In 2009, my husband and I started following DR for our personal finances and I bought FPU to gift to my mom for Christmas. I never expected she would use it, but she has started in spite of not having a job (!)

I would like to get my own business to the next level and also to encourage my brother, mother, and sister-in-law (all very talented people who are either working retail or out of a job) to take the leap themselves. I would love to read Dave’s new book and gift it on to other people!

  59. This book looks like something that will really help me keep my focus. I have almost paid off all my debt with the snowball method, and although I haven’t read his books, I do find people who have to be passionate about them. I have a goal of working for myself, and I could use all the inspiration I can get! thanks for the giveaway!

  60. This book would be a tremendous help to me as I am desperately looking for ways to earn money to help get our family out debt with a home business. I have some ideas running through my brain of things I could do, but definitely need some business advice! This book would be a blessing to me. Thanks for the chance to win! 🙂

  61. Dave Ramsey’s books really helped my husband and I start our marriage on a good solid debt-free foot. We would love this book to help better both his career and my small business.

  62. I would love a copy of this book. My husband and I opened a restaurant last year but I spend most of my time taking care of our preschooler and kindergartener. I really want us to be able to stragize and plan our future together, and the book sounds like it would help us go in the right direction.

  63. I’d love to check out this book! My blog is still new but growing every day and I’m trying to learn as much as I can to keep things moving in the right direction.

  64. I am going through a divorce and have two children still at home. I’ve never worked outside the home…except for clerk jobs here and there to help out over the years. I am starting my own business sewing..designing etc. and really need help to get myself out of the hole we’ve been in.
I’ve been to one of Dave’s seminars and was incredibly inspired. Now that I can choose I choose debt free!

  65. I would love to have a copy of Dave Ramsey’s book. I work in Insurance and everywhere I go I have been seeing his name. I even saw billboards for his seminars when I was traveling this summer. It’s like the cosmos or his marketer is putting him in my path. I don’t believe in co-incidence. Thanks Tsh!

  66. Tsh,
Thanks for sponsoring opportunities like this! I really appreciate it. I’m a home school mom and I have a small notecard shop on Etsy. I have limited time and experience with running a business so could really use the help. My husband is already working 2 jobs and I want to help in some way without compromising the heart of our family goals. Thanks again for sponsoring this giveaway! Blessings on your business!

  67. This past year has been one in which I have tried to hear from God on how to implement my passion and purpose into an online business…I am still in that process – of a trial and error approach – and there is little online from a Christian viewpoint…I would love to win this book and believe it would help me establish the vision that the Lord is developing…

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  68. Would love to have this book. We run our own businesses and need to keep learning.

  69. I would love to win a copy of this book! We have a home business and just read our first Dave Ramsey book (as you suggested in a past finance post). I loved his writings. So, this just gets me excited to read more, more, more!

  70. I would love to have this book! Why? Because working from home is an idea still in perculation form.

  71. EntreLeadership sounds like just the book I need. I’m working hard to rebuild my home-based business (I recently decided to specialize in a different niche). My goal is to eventually bring in enough clients so that I can move into a management position, recruit 3-5 other people on an independent contract basis and provide them with consistent projects. I’m familiar with Dave Ramsey and believe this book would be an excellent resource to help me reach my business goals.

  72. I would LOVE to win this book… I have listened to Dave’s new EntreLeadership podcast, and I expect the book is very similar. I am studying for my ACSM personal training certification, with the hope of starting a wellness ministry for people who can’t afford to pay but need fitness advice/coaching. I think this book would be extremely helpful.

  73. How awesome! I have a small business and it’s growing well, but I feel constrained by “my lid” in my lack of leadership skills. I would love to win one, but even if not, I am convinced I need to get a copy. Thanks so much for this opportunity!

  74. There once was a book by Ramsey
That I want to have see…
    I’d love it so much
    and thank Tsh a bunch!
    As its gifts would impart
and give me a jump start
to starting my business you see!

  75. My husband and I opened a business 2 years ago and we are floundering. I know that there is a fix for it but i didn’t know where to go for answers. I bet this book will help.

  76. We are big Dave fans & have several of his books. This would be a great addition to our collection as we’re trying to figure out what’s next in our lives – with possibly our own business.

  77. Last week, I made it to the last round of interviews but didn’t get a job I’d been hoping for, and two days later, my husband lost his job. We definitely feel God turning the page for us, and as I type this, we’re working on resurrecting the business we started 10 years ago. We were fresh out of school and knew nothing – nothing! – about running a business, so we made soooo many mistakes. We left it a couple of years back, run down by the business side of the business. Now that we’re coming back around to it, we’re seeking God’s wisdom on managing it the right way – and I know this book would speak well into that! It would be some great counsel at just the right time!

  78. As a stay at home mom, this book would be such a blessing.

  79. As a college student, starting a business is both extremely exciting and extremely frustrating. My boyfriend and I are starting a real estate rental property business. We just made an offer on our first place and are extremely excited to see what is to come. Since we are newby’s, we need all the help we can get. A book of this sort would be extremely helpful as we try and start this all while in school. Being young and relatively poor, lots of people don’t think we have what it takes to make this thing work. We want nothing more than to prove them wrong! We would love a great resource like this to help show the world young people can make a difference and start a business to setup the rest of our lives for success! Thanks for your consideration!

  80. I would love Dave Ramsey’s book, EntreLeadership! I am in serious need of some financial guidance on business building. Thanks!

  81. I work freelance as a writer and editor from my home and have for 10 years. My kids are now in school all day, and I have the time to start thinking of this work as a business–I have a very hard time with that. I think this book will be a great place for me to start. Thanks for the tip!

  82. Thanks for a great post and giveaway. We are now debt free except for the house because we followed Dave Ramsey’s plan. Can you imagine as a SAHM how nice it is not to worry (as much) or fight (as much) over moolah? Sure we have a smaller house, use things up instead of buying new and other small sacrifices…but right now we live like no one else so that later in life we can live like no one else! This book would be great for my hubs, he wants to start his own biz but there are so many hurdles. Maybe we will get lucky!

  83. I would love to win this book because I like Dave Ramsey’s books and would love to read it!

  84. Dave Ramsey is one of my heroes! His FPU helped us keep from making many mistakes during the three years my husband was out of work. Thankfully, we have now relocated, have stable employment for my husband, and I’m once again building my music teaching studio in my home. I would love to have this book to help me along the way in starting over in business. Thanks!

  85. I am going through a divorce, raising 6 kids alone and deciding what I should do careerwise. I am in school again but who knows? Maybe I should become an entrepreneur again. After all, I have already been a part of the workings of several small business. Hmmmm……

  86. Jacqueline B says:

My husband started his own business 5 years ago. I have several ideas floating around my head for another home-based business. We could greatly benefit from the the undoubtedly wise counsel of Dave. Thanks for the opportunity to win one one of his books!

  87. Awesome! I was just talking with my brother about a Dave Ramsey book he read and liked, so I’d like to read this one. (And, of course, winning it would be even better!)

  88. I want to be a better businesswoman…and I’m looking at a new endeavor. I’d love to read Dave’s, no doubt, fabulous insights.

  89. I have put in a request for my library to purchase this book so that I can read it. (I am trying to be a good girl and get out of debt, so buying it for myself is out of the question.)

I am in the process of trying to start three businesses (and homeschool my 4 kids and support my hubby as he finishes his PhD). This was not something I had planned. I had (technically still have) a book contract for two books, but there have been publisher issues, so I am in the process of investigating self-publishing. (The books are written; I just have to get them out there.) I also have a hobby that has become a bit of a business, and I would be happy to let that get to the point of a self-supporting hobby and not my primary business. The third is the business my husband and I intentionally went out to start, and I would love some encouragement… it is great fun but a lot of work (especially with everything else on our plates), and some words of wisdom and encouragement from someone who has been there/ done that would be wonderful! And the ability to read it over and over and not having to worry about getting it back to th elibrary on time would be a bonus. 🙂

  90. Hey! Thanks so much for this give away ! I have a great business that I am currently trying to package! I love Dave Ramsey and would be blessed to read what he has to say about business!

  91. I do not own a business, not am I planning to start one (not yet, anyway), but I am a working mom (a female in today’s business world :)). I feel that I am a natural leader and am passionate for serving others, but I know I lack SO much. I’d love to learn from Dave Ramsey, as I am a big fan of his, and would love to see how I can apply what I learned. I would very much appreciate you to consider me to be one of the 10 you pick to get a copy. 🙂

  92. I am a budding entrepreneur. I have heard Dave talk about it, and it sounds great.

  93. Sounds like a great read! We have a side business we are slowly growing and this book would be really helpful.

  94. I am the wife of an entrepreneur. I have watched him build his business with so much work and total dedication. If I can contribute in any way to ensure his success in work and in life, I wouldn’t pass up that opportunity.
Maybe this book can take it to the next level!

  95. I really like Dave’s teaching. I got to hear him speak at an event last year. My husband loves him too, so I bet this would be one giveaway he would actually be excited about if I won! 🙂

  96. I LOVE DAVE!!! 🙂
Even though I was already using sound financial principles (I was a Larry Burkett fan!), I have enjoyed watching my friends and family benefit from his financial advice. And honestly – I’d LOVE to hear more from him in regards to business, leadership, entrepreneurship, etc!! I would love to earn a living from home, and I’d love to see my hubby know what to do with the creative ideas that come to him!

  97. I’d love to win the book. Why do I need it? I’m new in blogging, a mom of three who just had to start working again, but is looking for ways to work from home and spend more time with kids. I believe this book will show me how. Thanks for a chance!

  98. Thanks to Dave Ramsey, I am debt free and free to be me! I would absolutely love to hear his philosophy on entrepreneurship and find out how I can make money and grow a business doing what I do best for others.

  99. I’d love to win this book. I’ve done independant selling ( Avon , Regal) & found it was more work than income. Maybe this book will help explain why & give me confidence to give ” self employed” another go.

  100. Kellie Smith says:

I would love a copy of this book. I’ve read his other books and I’m trying very hard to follow his plan. Thanks for hosting this.
