Beautiful braids

There’s something so irresistible about braided hair. I have super long hair at the moment (mostly a product of not visiting the salon in a while, and my stylist going on maternity leave!) and while I haven’t had the urge to cut it (yet), I still need solutions for styling other than a top knot. Varying your hair style keeps things interesting and fun, and doing braids is much less work than you think.

I’ve gathered some of the best braid tutorials and ideas from around the web. Have you tried any of these styles?

Braided crown

This tutorial from A Beautiful Mess (photo above) is a beautiful look to get your hair off your neck in the summer and is great for long hair.

Fishtail braid

I wondered my whole life how to braid a fishtail looking braid. Thank goodness for blogs to teach us the ins and outs! This how-to from Love Maegan (above) is so simple.

Waterfall braid

This look from Beautylish (above) is so lovely and simple and gives a stylish look while keeping an au naturale feel

Braided bang

This quick and easy idea from Hollywood Housewife (above) keeps hair off your face and takes only a few minutes.

Double braid

This look from Sincerely Kinsey (above) appears harder than it really is. Particularly great for long hair.

Which is your favorite braid syle?

  1. Baldy over here wishes she could braid without too much scalp showing. Jealous of all these great looks!!!

  2. nopinkhere says:

I have a blue streak currently right at my side part. I like to mix the blue and brown on the thicker side in a small braid. Then I usually just put it in a ponytail. I also like to wear my hair in a French twist sort of thing when it’s wet, and sometimes I braid a bit behind my opposite ear as well. When I twist it up, there’s one from the front coming to the back met by one in the big part of the twist. (Hard to describe!)

  3. Love braids – just pinned and I’m so excited to try some of these now that my hair is long enough.
